Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday faced the floor test to prove his Majority in house. He passes the floor test with 20 MLAs voted in the favor of BJP led government.
Pramod Sawant who was speaker of Goa assembly, Appointed as Chief Minister after sudden death of former Chief Minister Manohar parrikar.
BJP led Government proved it’s majority with support of 20 MLAs, 12 from BJP, 3 each from it’s allies Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and 3 Independent MLAs.
15 MLAs also voted against the Motion, 14 MLAs from Congress and 1 MLA from NCP.
Total strength of House was 40 which has been reduced to 36 after death of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and BJP MLA Francis D’Souza and Resignation of two Congress MLAs.
